Summary: Help homless individuals with transportation for medical, VA, DMV, Social Security, and other appointments
Shoreline Community Service (SCS)has been striving for over ten years to address the unmet needs of unsheltered individuals in San Diego's Central Beach area. SCS steps in to fill the gaps by offering connections to existing resoures, focusing on long-term solutions (housing, job training, lifeskills, etc.)
SCS seeks funding to aid unsheltered individuals in reuniting with their families. Following a rigorous screening process, we supply bus/train tickets to reconnect people with their support network. Funding is also needed for bus passes/Lyft rides for medical/legal appts.,DMV, city/country offices, job interviews, etc. Funds are also used for minor repairs and registration for those living in their cars, helping them avoid citations or impoundment.
