For the past twelve years, Kearney's Crane River Theater has traveled to libraries across Nebraska with their "Page to Stage" program. Using nationally-acclaimed actors from Crane River Theater's upcoming productions, they quite literally transform the page into a stage in an interactive and engaging hour-long performance. Page to Stage focuses on taking a well-known storybook and bringing it to life with the hope of inspiring imaginations and instilling a love for the arts. Allowing children the opportunity to see characters jump from the page to the stage in this hour-long interactive performance is invaluable. Crane River Theater presents Page to Stage to thousands of youth each summer and is excited to reach out to even more communities in the years to come. The Kearney Noon Rotary Club wants to financially support this program with our 2025-2026 district grant application.
Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)
Project Summary: Marketing Materials for 2025/2026 Season of Crane River Theater Productions
Project Description: Crane River Theater is established around the belief that lifting up the arts will only help in creating a richer and more vibrant community. Crane River Theater in Kearney will use our grant money to purchase large vinyl banners highlighting each show as grant money allows. These banners will be placed outside in the Kearney community at various well travelled areas of the city. The banners are a marketing tool for the theater to promote attendance at the theater. The December show is always a family show, there is also a summer family show, and a fall show that is directed to the school age children. The fall show includes matinees during the school day for surrounding schools to bring the youth to. The performance is usually from a book the students have already read as part of the school curriculum. There is also a spring show and another summer show. With any available fund, we will also purchase post cards and fliers promoting the shows.
