Our Rotary Club is seeking a District Grant to support homeless students from pre-school to high school in the Prescott Unified School District, where currently 107 students (up from 80 reported last year) are identified as experiencing homelessness. Each December, the school district organizes a "Winter Wellness Fair" to provide these students with gifts, essential items, and advice/resources to support their well-being.
Through this grant, our club will contribute both financially and through volunteer service provided by our members to enhance the Winter Wellness Fair. Grant funds will be used to help with the purchase of gifts, essential items (such as hygiene products, school supplies, and warm clothing accessories), and wrapping supplies. Our club members will volunteer their time to shop for gifts, wrap presents, and help set up and support the event.
We believe that providing thoughtful gifts and personal support at this event will boost students' confidence, foster a sense of security, and positively impact their academic success and overall wellness.
