Project Description Country: USA Location: Fountain Hills, AZ Total Budget: $5,000 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: This project will fund 2 - 3 Career and Technical Education scholarships for one semester. The Rotary Club of Fountain Hills has responded to a raising interest from young adults in the local community to pursue career skills through vocational education. Fortunately, Maricopa County has a wide variety of Community Colleges and technical institutions that provide such training. Consequently, three years ago we began offering financial support to qualified students for tuition, books, uniforms, lab supplies, etc. Once they enter the scholarship program and maintain good grades they are supported through graduation. Since the inception of the program 5 students have earned Associate Degrees or Certificates of Accomplishment and another 5 are actively pursuing same.
