Project Description Country: USA Location: Corinth Total Budget: $2,500 Areas of Focus: Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Build beds for local children in Denton County, TX, who do not have a bed to sleep in There are approximately 440 children identified locally who do not have a bed to sleep in. Denton_lake Cities Rotary will team with Sleep in Heavenly Peace ("SHP"), a local 501(c)(3) non-profit, to build 25 beds to be provided to local children who do not currently have a bed. Denton-Lake Cities Rotary will provide funding to purchase materials to construct 25 beds. On May 17, 2025, Club members will meet to actually construct the beds and turn over the completed beds to SHP for delivery to needy children. The beds will be constructed by Club members and their families, with possible participation from local Rotaract and Interact clubs. Denton-Lake Cities Rotary Club's financial and construction assistance will provide 25 beds to needy children, providing them with a safe and comfortable place to sleep, which is essential for their health, well-being and academic success.
