Project Description Country: USA Location: Evanston Total Budget: $15,000 Area of Focus: Water, sanitation and hygiene Activity Type: Water: Supply/Access Summary: water wells to be drilled for refugee camp in Uganda In collaboration with a local Rotaract club in Uganda wells will be drilled to provide water to these refugee camps which will then maintain them. Bore holes will be drilled with storage systems in the Nakivale Refugee settlement. The Nakivale Rotaract District 9213 contact person is Yoshua Osea. Becoming a registered organization with the Ugandan government is the biggest hurdle. While they are working on that process, we want to keep the project moving forward. We discussed the issue with Nakivale Rotaract and they agreed the best course was to use a Rotary Club to be the host, and then mentor the Rotaractors through the process. The Rotaract president, Paul Mushaho, spoke with the Kampala area Rotary Club of Najjera, with whom they have worked previously, and that club has agreed to become the host for the project.
