Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Fountain Hills,. AZ

Total Budget: $7,500

Area of Focus: The environment

Activity Type: Food/Agriculture: General

Summary: Identifying need for food items, purchasing and delivering them twice monthly to the food bank in Fountain Hills, AZ that serves more than 1000 food insecure individuals a month.them

This food bank is an affiliate of St. Mary's Food Bank of AZ but does not get food items from

them. I am a member of the Four Peaks Rotary Club and as champion of this charity, I get a

'grocery list' of needed food items from Ann Speer, the volunteer inventory manager of the

food bank, each month. I then purchase and deliver the food once or twice a month over the

fiscal year. Four Peaks Club members participate by planning, staffing and participating in

the annual golf fundraiser each March at Ancala Country Club. Proceeds from the fundraiser go

to the Four Peaks Rotary Foundation, a 501(c)3 that manages grant applications and distributes

monies to local and international charities. Note that if there is another district grant

request from this Club, please consider mine secondary and adjust the District Contribution accordingly
