Provide funding to purchase milk and eggs for the Denton Community Food Center (DCFC).
The distribution of food is basic to everyone's health and well-being. The DCFC is committed to providing emergency amounts of nutritious food to the hunger insecure members of the Northern Denton community who qualify by USDA/TDA standards. They are seeing a larger number of families with school age children requiring food due to the economy and the population increases in Denton County. The food bank does not provide milk and eggs, so the DCFC purchases these high protein food sources at local retail stores. The Pilot Knob Rotary Club members will volunteer at the DCFC including stocking, food distribution support, administrative support, food donation drives, etc. This project will help to alleviate food insecurity in Denton, Texas.
This project will be completed within 30 days after approval.
