Project Description Country: USA Location: Escondido Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: Maternal and child health Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Provide food baskets in Nov and Dec to 28 single-parent families There are many low-income single-parent families in North County and over the years we have met and helped hundreds of these families. This project is to give a large food basket, including cooking oil, a turkey, rice, beans, pasta, eggs, fresh fruit and vegetables, etc. to each of these families in November and December. The cost of food has risen sharply in the past two years and we want these families to be able to enjoy a healthy and complete holiday dinner. The food in the basket lasts a family of 4 for about 3 weeks.
