Project Description Country: USA Location: Carlsbad Total Budget: $6,000 Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Community economic development Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: Fundraising Raffle for High School Student Scholarships Our goal is to promote educational opportunities for graduating high school students. Last year our raffle was very successful. We were able to leverage our investment to a total of $42,000. in scholarships. These scholarships will help local students to attend both academic and vocational schools. We see these scholarships as a wonderful recognition of the work our students have accomplished. It gives them encouragement and a pat on the back from their community mentors. We have been able to help students with vocational studies who might not otherwise be able to move forward. Our Club will contribute $3,000 to match the District grant. We have found great support from our our Club and community members who support education, by purchasing raffle tickets, which raises additional funds.
