ReWild Mission Bay is a project of the San Diego Audubon and Coalition partners dedicated to restoring environmentally valuable wetlands in the northeast corner of San Diego's iconic Mission Bay. ReWild Mission Bay is restoring tidal wetland habitat for 1. water quality improvement, 2. resilience to sea level rise, 3. improvement of endangered species habitat and 4. improvement of human connection, especially Native American, to a thriving and beautiful tidal wetland.
Our club would be directly involved with ReWild MB in several ways over the next year:
1. Wetlands cleanup projects in Mission Bay
2. Replanting of wetlands with natives in Mission Bay
3. Sharing 9 wildlife cameras on rail nesting platforms to classrooms through the Sharing Our Shores education program with 5 local Native American elementary schools. This allows children to better understand the need for pristine habitat for wildlife and the connection of wild areas to the health of our community.
