Summary: Hygiene kits will be provided to high school students who are homeless and/or in the foster care system
Irvine Unified School District has several hundred homeless and foster students who are currently managed by the school district's health and mental wellness department. The district does the best they can to provide resources to support these students who face challenges having basic supplies to attend school. Many are currently shuttled in the foster care system or still live with parents who do not have steady housing arrangements.
This projects supports homeless high school students and students in the foster care system who do not have parental support to buy the essentials they need to succeed in school. Supplies for hygiene will be supplied to students, which include a carrying case for personal hygiene, hair brushes, soap, toothpaste, a pocket mirror, body soap and other essentials necessary to have good grooming presentation as a student. Rotarians will pack the supplies and prepare them for distribution to students with notes of encouragement.

Reason for dropping: When the DDF amounts were revised and reduced, the club decided not to use DDF for this project but allocate it to their other ones.
