Activity Type:
Community Development: Disaster Recovery
Summary: Purchasing and planting 12 trees at the Arnold Recreation Area Campground in Arnold, Nebraska and setting up a drip watering system.
The Arnold Rec Area Lake and Campground is in need of new trees for shade. The money from this grant will be combined with money from private funds, the Arnold Rotary Club, and the Village of Arnold to buy new trees, plant them, and set up a watering system. The campground is a well known and popular spot for local campers as well as campers from many other states. In addition, the local children and families use the lake to fish and kayak during the summer months. This campground and park is used by locals for their daily walk around the lake. New trees will benefit both the environment and provide a much needed shade canopy.
