Project Description Country: USA Location: Fort Collins Total Budget: $3,810 Areas of Focus: Maternal and child health, Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: General Summary: To provide Holiday Baskets of food for families in need to prepare a holiday meal for their family. Our goal is to serve 80 families in our community this year. Our Holiday Baskets project at Foothills Rotary partners with local agencies such as Neighbor to Neighbor, Project Self Sufficiency, Mason Place, and Care Housing. We partner with the Food Bank of Larimer County to gather and assemble the Holiday Baskets. Volunteers from our club provide service by acquiring the food, packing the baskets and delivering these meals on the weekend before Christmas. The Food Bank helps provide part of our meals with food items they have available at the time. We supplement the meals by purchasing with the funds we raise and the grant to gather the remaining items and reusable grocery bas locally from Safeway. With food insecurity and the high cost of goods we hope to bring some joy and comfort to families during the holidays in our community.
