Summary: Two Middle School service projects to help support suicide prevention with local Hope Squads
This is a mental wellness project where Rotarians will work with Idaho falls School District 91's Eagle Rock Middle School and Taylorview Middle School in partnership with their Hope Squads to share the healing power of service to help overcome suicidal challenges. Hope Squads are a core group of volunteer students in Middle School and High School who have been invited by Teachers in School District 91 to provide emotional support and friendship to kids in need of that kind of service. Taylorview experienced a heavy loss of a student, by suicide recently, so the support for suicide prevention is welcomed. The Hope Squads and Rotarians will outline two projects, each of a $1425 value, and implement the projects with the entire school to give back to the School District, the school itself, its teachers, and its students. A suicide prevention assembly will take place in advance of the project to share the healing power of service and will also provide students with a list of local service opportunities right before they embark on their own service project for their school.

Your 2024-25 club president cannot be the primary contact person (grant manager). You need to replace her name with someone else in the club for this role. As a tier 3 project with a budget of more than $2,850, you need a detailed spending plan. Please list in your narrative, on in a document uploaded to the documents tab, a more detailed list of anticipated expenses that it is clear how the money will be spent. We have no way of knowing that your funds are to be spent only on expenses allowed by The Rotary Foundation. Thank you!

Hi Marianne, I am aware that I cannot be on the grant, I didn't realize it was public already, I thought it was just in draft mode until it was signed. Bruce Turner will be the Grant Admin and our VP Steve Boorman will be the other signer. Our excellent Service Committee will help implement the grant so no worries. I will be changing the grant amount to $2850.

The 2024-25 club president is required to be a signer on district grants. You can have other administrators on the grant at your choosing, but this person is required. I have sent an email for Kristin Sanger to sign.

I had to cancel your signature process in order to add Bruce as a signatory with updated email address. Please follow the instructions you received by email to sign or resign your grant application. Thank you!
