Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Gem County, Idaho

Total Budget: $1,370

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: Dictionaries for 3rd Graders in Gem County

Shortly after school opens in the fall (September/October) Emmett Rotary Club members will visit each school in Emmett, Sweet and Garden Valley and give dictionaries and Four-Way test coloring books to every 3rd grader. While visiting in the classrooms to demonstrate the dictionaries, we also explain what the Rotary Club does in the community and talk about the Four-Way test. The dictionaries provide a valuable resource both in the classroom and at home. The children are always very excited to receive their dictionaries and the teachers love the program.
