Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Phoenix Arizona

Total Budget: $7,000

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: Literacy

Summary: Provide paperback dictionaries to all third grade classes in Paradise Valley School District

The goal of this program is to assist all third grade students in the Paradise Valley School District to become good writers, active readers and resourceful learners by providing them with their own personal dictionaries. These dictionaries are a gift to each student to use at school and at home for years to come. For many of these students, this book will be their very first one to own and keep.

The rotary club finds out the number of third graders and orders that many books. Most club members participate by distributing books to assigned school or schools. These dictionaries are usually distributed during the month of September or October so students will be able to use them for most of the school year.

Congratulations! This project has been approved for full funding. We are not certain when the money will hit your account, but our best guess is a month or so. The district has approved the project now Rotary International will review and approve. We’ll send you an update when we have one. Please also remember that you may not spend money prior to TRF approval and reimburse yourself from grant funds. If there have been changes in your bank account (information for electronic transfer), please get that to Lucinda General (District Treasurer) as soon as possible. treasurer@rotary5495.org. Your report is due April 30, 2025, and receipts are required to complete the report (not invoices, cancelled checks, UPS shipping labels, or any other documents). Thank you for creating hope in the world.
