Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health, Basic education and literacy
Activity Type:
Health: General
Summary: Provide food to meet children's nutritional needs
We have supported Children's Lunchbox for several years now and they continue to feed over 20,000 children. Because economic inflation remains at a high rate and food products are even more expensive, we will continue to support them. These children whose families are unable to make sure their children have enough to eat each day, support like ours makes sure they are fed, Receiving the nutrition they need improves both their retention of lessons from the classroom and their overall health. When possible, the club hopes to take part in packaging the food for distribution.
Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)
Note: The Finance tab states that the District 5010 e-Club is providing the matching funds. This is an error. This is Hillside Rotary's grant. They are providing the matching funds and will receive the DDF associated with this grant. The grant's primary contact, George Frushour, was formerly a member of e-Club and the matchingrants.org program appears to have experienced a delay in recognizing Mr. Frushour's current club membership.
Paid
This project is "Paid". This means that the funds from the district have been issued. This project is now being ready for implementation.
