The Rotary Club of Channahon-Minooka is seeking to provide financial and volunteer assistance to the Channahon Park District for the rehabilitation and expansion of two native plant areas along the Arroyo Trails, 77 acre park and the Central Park Sensory Garden. Visitors are invited to see, hear, touch and smell a wide variety of native pollinator plants. Some plants have died off and so the plan is to restore the garden with new native plants. The Rotary and Interact Clubs will assist with planting and maintaining the Sensory Garden with pruning and weed removals. Total budget is $800 with request of DDF funds of $500. Publicity will be through social media and newsletters from the Park District, The Rotary and Interact Club, and school district. Work will be completed by June 2024.
