The purpose of this garden is to support pollinating insects and educate the students (k-8th grade) and community about habitat needs, the life cycle and migration of the Monarch Butterfly. The sunny area is 10x10 feet. Soil preparation and maintenance will be done by school personnel. The planting will be done by the Bradley Bourbonnais Rotary Club and St. George School students and Staff. In addition to the planting, educational signs will be developed and part of the funds will be used to purchase environmental books for the school's library. Publicity will come from the Rotary Club, District 6450 Environmental webpage, School District newsletters and the local paper. There will be a ribbon cutting event. 15 Rotarians will participate and approximately 400 students and staff will benefit from the garden and educational opportunities.
