Project Description Country: USA Location: Arlington, TX Total Budget: $3,510 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: This project will allow Arlington North West Rotary to purchase 936 Dictionaries to be giving to 3rd graders in 10 Arlington ISD schools to hep with learning. Arlington North West Rotary will provide Dictionaries to all Third Graders at 10 Elementary Schools in Arlington ISD - totaling 936 students. Many of the school we help have a high number of financial challenges households, the dictionaries will help students have a resource at home to help with spelling, definitions and English. The funds will be used to purchase 936 dictionaries from the Dictionary Project. Members from our club team-up in pairs to Deliver the dictionaries to the schools and students. At the school the Rotarians are able to interact with the students in a group setting with all the 3rd grade class present, explain a little about what Rotary and how Rotary helps in the community and around the world.
