Summary: CPR Education and Awareness among the community in New York
Cardiac arrest is a problem that can occur in almost anyone. It is important for the community to learn about CPR because it is a simple certification that can help save a life. AEDs are found in many places like airports and big buildings, so it is important for people to learn how to use one - emergencies can occur at any time. Many of the community are unaware of heart problems or cardiac arrest. Our project aims to have CPR courses where we have American Heart Association-certified instructors teach and certify young adults and adults. We plan on having these courses every few months to certify as many people as possible. Another problem addressed along with CPR will be taking care of children and how to help if they are choking. The project funds will be used to pay for the CPR certificates and purchase new equipment like mannequins, course supplies, and refreshments. Club members will be involved in reaching out to the community registering them, and helping out on the day of the trainings with practice and all other logistics.
