Project Description Country: USA Location: North County San Diego Total Budget: $1,500 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Scholarship Summary: College Scholarships to benefit low-income Latina mentees of MANA de North County Our Rotary club has a long-standing relationship with the nonprofit MANA de North County San Diego; their mission is to mentor Latina teens in North County so they can all attend college and pursue a career. The rising seniors in their mentoring program can all apply for a scholarship in late April, as soon as they have committed to a university and have a new student ID number. The MANA board members, including Route 78 Rotary Past President Corie De Anda, select the winners, the amount of scholarships and then write the checks to the universities.
