This project will align with the 2023-24 Rotary International emphasis on mental health. Specifically, the mental health needs of children who do not have the financial means to access summer recreation, therefore leading to more social isolation that in turn may lead to anxiety and depression. This project will provide funding to children and families for family swim passes and summer recreation classes, resulting in less loneliness. We propose to pay for 8 family swim passes ($125 each) and 300 summer recreation classes. We anticipate $100 for advertising/community flyers. The swimming pool manager and the City of St. Paul Recreation Program Manager have verbally approved participation.
