Summary: The Chadron Rotary Club requests a district grant to assist in the purchase of an inflatable branded arch.
The Chadron Rotary Club hosts events throughout the year that bring hundreds of people to the community. Run Chadron was started as the club's community wellness initiative focused around fun and entertaining running events for the community and also bringing participants from the region. We continue to add things to these events to make them more marketable and fun for participants. Creating a "big-time" feeling brings in more people from the region supporting Rotary and the community of Chadron businesses and other events. Rotary of Chadron is requesting a district grant to help in purchasing a large Rotary branded arch that can be used as the finish line at Run Chadron events, and other events to increase the visibility of our club, such as the Buffalo Chip Throw during Fur Trade Days. Annually over 400 participants run in events and 50-75 participate in the Buffalo Chip Throw. The arch will increase the visibility of Rotary but also add to the value of the events encouraging more participants. We hope to have the arch in place for the July 15th Colter Run and Buffalo Chip Throw. The funds will be used along with Chadron Rotary funds to purchase the arch.
