Summary: Backpacks filled with school supplies for 300 Greeley/Evans students
https://www.greeleyschools.org/Page/15778
Greeley-Evans School District 6 is a 23,000-student public school district that serves a diverse population. More than 62 percent of the students in District 6 qualify for free and reduced lunch. At some schools, more than 90 percent of students qualify for meal assistance. Greeley Redeye Rotary is a strong supporter of children, literacy and education. We have enjoyed a great partnership with District 6, and would like to continue to support this very important organization in our community. We are asking for matching grant funds to support the annual School Kickoff Community Celebration, which will be held August 5, 2023 at Island Grove Regional Park. With the grant, District 6 will be able to purchase 300 backpacks filled with school supplies to give out to students registered to attend school in the district. In addition, Greeley Redeye Rotarians will volunteer to help set up the day before the event and at the event, helping to hand out more than 4,000 total backpacks to children who attend school in District 6, grades preschool through 12th. These supplies are essential to students and their families, who may otherwise be unable to purchase the needed supplies to start the school year. As part of this sponsorship, Greeley Redeye Rotary will also be able to host an informational booth at the event, and will have the Rotary logo on all marketing materials, banners at the event, advertisements, social media posts, website posts and volunteer T-shirts.

This project is "Completed". This means the project has been implemented and the report was accepted by the district leadership. The project will stay listed on this website as a testimony of the achievements of the project partners.
In order to qualify for a District grant your club must have a minimum of $50 per capita. Your club currently has a per capita of $41.18. Your clubs total contribution to the Foundation needs to increase from $700 to $851 by the end of this month. Let me know if you have any questions on this.

Darcy,
I wanted to let you know the District does match club funds 2 - 1. Currently you are asking for $5,000 with a 1 - 1 match. If you want to adjust the financing with your club giving $1,667 and the district giving $3,333 it will still equal the $5,000 you want but save your club some money.
Let me know if you any questions on making this change.
