Summary: Stop the Bleed program which teaches the public how to provide emergency care and other life saving first aid skills

Irvine High School students and Irvine Rotarians will participate with Orange County Fire Authority and local paramedic/EMT/nursing providers in "Stop the Bleed" a program which teaches the public how to provide emergency care, stop major bleeding and use life saving first aid skills to save lives in case of disaster and emergency situations. The training uses both live volunteers and mannequins to show attendees how to pack wounds, use tourniquets, etc. The training will be followed by assembly of first aid supplies and disaster preparedness kits to be donated to low income households and distributed via South County Outreach, a local food shelter in Irvine
