Summary: Volunteer event at Project C.U.R.E.
|
Club members will volunteer at the warehouse of Project C.U.R.E., helping sort medical supplies to be shipped overseas to developing countries where medical equipment and supplies are scarce. We will focus on "Kits for Kids," which provide personal hygiene and basic "medicine cabinet" items. If a child gets hurt, families might have to travel a long distance by bicycle, bus or on foot to receive care at the nearest medical clinic. Developed with volunteer Pediatricians and Nurses, Kits for Kids give parents in developing countries the supplies they need to provide basic care at home. They even provide a bar of soap to encourage handwashing and avoid serious infections. Club members will provide funding for the Kit contents.
