Summary: This program provides assistance to at-risk youth in 4 North Phoenix high schools.
The Ray Norris At-Risk Youth program has been established by the Anthem Rotary club to provide needed assistance to students who have been identified as at-risk and often times as "homeless" with the intent of keeping these students in school. Club Rotarians work closely with administrators of Mayer HS, Barry Goldwater HS, Deer Valley HS and Boulder Creek HS, to identify specific needs. We regularly provide gift cards for meals, Walmart gift cards, and backpacks stuffed with personal hygiene supplies throughout the academic calendar year. An estimated 350 - 400 students are impacted through this program. Rotarians are involved with the purchasing of the gift and meal cards, and the backpacks and hygiene supplies. Club members stuff the backpacks and deliver all the materials to the high schools for distribution.
