Assembling a pod for privacy and security for feeding babies.
most airports around the US have lactation stations for mothers and kids. The Ketchikan Airport has lacked sufficient and accessible space for mothers and babies to feed in privacy. It is our goal to provide a space for mothers to feed their babies via a self contained "pod" that will provide the necessary security and privacy for the activity. The feeding pod is a self contained unit that can be easily transported throughout the airport. The unit will cost around $10,000, $5000 coming from the state Rotary District grant and $5,000 coming from the local 5010 Rotary club. Our timeline for the project will be purchasing the pod in January 2024 and installing by spring 2024. We plan on using our club's golden hammer group which consists of 6 skilled builders and another 12 regular members that will assist in the building of the feeding pod.
