The Lithuanian School of Chicago was started in 1992 after merging with Donelaitis Lithuanian school, and Darius and Girenas Lithuanian Schools. The school is open on Saturdays, where students study Lithuanian language, literature, history, dance, art, and singing. Books that will be purchased will be on the following subjects: geography, language, history, and ethnography.
Our targeted completion date for this project is within the 2-3 months because the schools will need the books before the beginning of the next school year.
The Rotary Club of Chicagoland Lithuanians will be participating in this project. The number of non-Rotarians benefitting from this will be over 100 school children.
