Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Routt County, CO

Total Budget: $1,500

Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Community economic development, The environment

Activity Type: Community Development: Disaster Recovery

Summary: Updated, more robust website which is the main method for connecting and obtaining services from the county crisis support organization

The Routt County Crisis Support organization (501c3) plays a key role in helping the Routt County community and individuals in times of crisis, through guiding, supporting, and connecting groups of people and individuals in processing trauma. Additionally, RCCS connects first responders and their families to resources that promote emotional and mental health. There are four programs that offer behavioral and financial support for people of Routt County following a critical incident: Emergency Assistance, Community Response Crisis Team, 1st Responder Mental Health Assistance Program, and Peer Support. So far in 2021 (end of August) RCCS has had almost 300 first responders (or their family members) access mental health support through the RCCS program.

Routt County Crisis Support currently has a website that was built by a board member four years ago. The website is the hub for all the services, such as requests for mental health support by first responders and requests for critical incident debriefings. Therefore, it is essential for RCCS programs' success to have a more updated, streamlined and robust website.

This grant would provide funds for a professional web developer to improve the RCCS website to the level required to assure those in need in Routt County are able to access RCCS programs. The website would be developed and completed by end of first quarter 2022. Several Rotary club members would serve as a pilot testing group to make sure the website functions as desired and to help make any additional improvements.
