Summary: Support workforce development for high school students, particularly Valley High Continuation School in Escondido, CA.
This program serves a humanitarian purpose by taking youth out of poverty, violent and precarious situations and improving their welfare and ability to serve as better role models for their siblings and friends. These funds will be used during the 2021/2022 Rotary year to offer training to create resumes, how to interview and also hold a job club - to offer local job opportunities for youth, including youthful offenders. We would also like to support interview clothing, haircuts, etc. This will allow them to supplement funds to pursue higher education and to put food on the table.
Members of this club have committed to providing tutoring, job interview training, and mentoring services in addition to the funds provided for case management sessions, testing fees and other costs related to college and/or job placement. Support will be provided throughout the 2021/2022 Rotary year.
