Project Description Country: Philippines Location: Concepcion, Iloilo Total Budget: $2,000 Areas of Focus: Disease prevention and treatment, Maternal and child health Activity Type: Health: General Summary: Two Oxygen Concentrator provided to Medical Health Unit and Birthing Clinic in Concepcion, Iloilo, Philippines. The Oxygen Concentrators will be used in a Rural Health Unit (RHU) located in the Municipality of Concepcion, Iloilo, Philippines which they do not have at the moment. The Medical Unit is serving a population of 45,000 inhabitants from the town 25 barangays (villages). The RHU has a birthing clinic providing safe and clean environment to expectant mothers. In the last six months, the Medical Unit is averaging 56 daily consultations and the Birthing Clinic is averaging 29 deliveries a month. An Oxygen Concentrator is medical device that would be a great addition to the Medical Unit that will assist patients and birthing mothers in labor who suffers from low levels of oxygen concentration in their blood. The Oxygen Concentrators will be purchased and delivered to the RHU in July 2022 by Rotarians Florian and Freda Pet.
