Young Leaders of Escondido is a new program Escondido Rotary Club is launching this year. We are going to offer 11th and 12th grade students at all Escondido High schools to write a detailed description of the project they would do to improve their city if they would have $1,000 budget. Each funded project will be supervised by the ERC Community Service Committee members to its completion. Escondido Rotary Foundation's treasurer will pay all necessary expenses for the project directly from the Escondido Rotary Foundation's account.
This program has numerous benefits for high school students, our club, and our community: Young people will know that their voices are heard, their vision for the future of Escondido maters, and they are perfectly capable of making a positive impact; Our club will get an enthusiastic and energetic project manager who is excited to bring new ideas and new approaches and do great things that young generation cares about; The city of Escondido will have three more outstanding young citizens who care, and have invested their ideas, their talent, and their work into improving their hometown.
We need $3,000 for this program, and our club already raised $1,500. We are asking for $1,500 of matching funds.
