Project Description Country: USA Location: Peoria, Arizona Total Budget: $5,498 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Dictionaries will be distributed to all 3rd Graders in 24 elementary schools within the Peoria Unified School District in Peoria Arizona. Students will have a tangible tool to utilize to supplement their education. Dictionaries will be distributed to all 3rd graders within 24 elementary schools, totaling 1738 dictionaries, which will be obtain via DictionaryProject.org. This is a joint project facilitated by both the Rotary Club of Peoria North and the Rotary Club of Peoria, involving approximately 40 Rotarians. The Project works in conjunction with The Peoria Unified School District. Dictionaries will be ordered 8/21, with distribution to begin 9/21, and expected to be complete by 1/22. Club members will be involved with labeling the front, inside cover of each dictionary with the Rotary 4-way test stickers. Additionally, Rotarian pairs will arrange with each school individually to arrange for delivery to each 3rd grade classroom. Project funds will be used to purchase 1738 dictionaries, along with 2,000 4-Way labels.
