Project Description Country: USA Location: Oak Brook, IL Total Budget: $1,000 Area of Focus: Maternal and child health Activity Type: Health: Volunteer Services Summary: Rotary Club CHicago NW plans to help fund meals and snacks that are provided to families enrolled in the Oakbrook Salvation Army's Head Start and Early Head Start programs. The Oakbrook Salvation Army provides Head Start and Early Head Start programs to give at-risk children the same chances every child deserves. https://centralusa.salvationarmy.org/metro/early-childhood-development/ They provide comprehensive services to Low-income children and families which include: - Healthy meals and snacks - Assistance with medical and dental care - Educational field trips - Support services to the family. Head Start/Early Head Start and camp programs Rotary Club Chicago NW would would like to support this program by funding the daily, nutritious meals provided each day for families enrolled in the program, as well as for the healthy snacks provided in the after-school programs. Our club is building relationship with the Oakbrook Salvation Army. We volunteered at their Christmas toy drive and are volunteering on June 4th for their Donut Day. We would like to foster this relationship this year and in the coming years and increase our impact with this organization and the community they serve.
