•Project Date(s): Late Spring (October 2021 or Early Spring (April 2022)
•Project Goal: Provide oral health exams and education to parents and kids age 0 - 18 years of age
•Project Description: The goal of this project is to partner with various resources in our local communities to provide oral exams, make recommendations, and provide education to parents and children on the importance of oral hygiene. The number one reason why kids miss school - is due to teeth issues. Working in conjunction with local schools, kids will be prescreened for oral needs and provided with documentation to bring to the event. Volunteer dentist and their staff hygienists, will provide on the spot oral exams, cleanings, and discussion of corrective oral techniques to avoid future problems. Volunteer dentists and their staff will provide equipment necessary to perform exams and preventative measures while Rotary staff works in conjunction with assisting with coordinating the event, helping with education, and provide fun for the kids while they wait. We also hope to involve our local fire and police departments in a "Best Tooth Fairy" Contest. Rotary funds will be spent in providing food for volunteers, bottles of water, possible overnight stays for volunteers, and educational supplies.
We hope to ensure that the kids in our local White Mountain communities will develop good oral hygiene habits at an early age that will last them a lifetime.
