Project Description Country: USA Location: Palmer Total Budget: $5,000 Area of Focus: Community economic development Activity Type: Community Development: Construction/Renovation Summary: Palmer The public tennis courts in downtown Palmer, Alaska get a great deal of use. They are free to the public. The courts need to be resurfaced and they need new nets. Alaska parks and public sports venues are seeing a big increase in usage. During the pandemic, outdoor recreation is preferable to indoor recreation. Tennis provides an excellent opportunity for social recreation at a distance. We know the importance of exercise and fresh air to public health. Rotarians can assist with the project by painting lines on the court, hanging nets and other hands-on work.
