Summary: Support feeding needy children through schools in an economic recession caused by CV-19 in Anchorage, AK United States
Children are returning to schools in a post CV-19 economic-depressed environment in Anchorage, Alaska. The non-profit organization,Children Lunch Box, is a community-based organization providing meals to under served children. The organization has been tasked with new challenges of increased food distribution to the children of Anchorage. Distribution during the school year is more efficient. We will continue to assist them with maintenance and updating of there commercial kitchen equipment for the Children's lunch box. The service has expressed a need for Anchorage Hillside Rotary to continue support. In addition to club funds, club members will source equipment to meet the needs and budget of the service. Club members will continue volunteer time and advise CLB on ways increase the efficiency and capacity of this valued service. The program with the help of Hillside Rotary over the past three years has expanded to provide weekend meals to eight title one schools and summer meals to under served locations through out Anchorage. There are estimated to be more than 20,000 hungry children.
