Project Description Country: USA Location: Saginaw, Texas Total Budget: $548 Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy Activity Type: Education: Literacy Summary: Giving Dictionaries to 3rd grade students in three middle schools in Saginaw, Texas, USA With the help of the District Grant and funds from the Community, we intend to place a dictionary into the hands of as many 3rd graders within the EMS ISD as we can. $600 will allow us to purchase 194 dictionaries from the Dictionary Project and we are still confirming numbers of students in three middle schools to ensure we have enough. Any extras will be donated to the library. Each book will have a book plate highlighting the Four Way Test and space the the child to write his/her name - in some cases this dictionary is the first book some children get to call their own. Every member of the Club will be involved in preparing the books and, as far as possible in this Covid-19 climate, will be part of the delivery service. Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed) Amended Budget: Total Budget $720= Club Contribution $446 + District Contribution(DDF) $274 EMS Rotary Club increased the project from $600 to $720 for a total of 216 dictionaries with the help of an American Nation Bank contribution of $200.
