The primary goal of Project Mercy, a non-profit San Diego agency, is to help improve the basic living standards and quality of life for destitute families in the colonias east of Tijuana, Mexico. Recognizing the extreme need to alleviate the health hazards incurred by poor makeshift housing, they have organized a means, with the financial and hands-on help of organizations like Rotary, to address this basic need by building homes for designated, needy families.
The Rotary Club of Fallbrook has proudly participated in this endeavor for several years and the moment we complete the home and hand over the keys to a very grateful family, we reiterate our commitment and enthusiasm to do it again. This year, due to Covid 19, the building date is yet to be determined.
The total cost of the building material, and a outhouse is $7,000.
The Rotary Club of Fallbrook has pledged $3,500 and we respectfully ask the District for DDDF funds of $3,500 to complete the project.
This is an opportunity for fellow Rotarians, future Rotarians, families of all sizes and ages to come together for one day and truly live the motto of "Service Above Self".
