Project Description

Country: USA

Location: Hailey Idaho

Total Budget: $1,366

Area of Focus: Basic education and literacy

Activity Type: Education: General

Summary: This grant will provide school supplies to students in the Blaine county school district that are in need of school supplies..

The Hailey Rotary Club will contact the school district and organizations that work with disadvantaged students to identify the specific needs for school supplies. We will then purchase and distribute these supplies to the students and tell them about Rotary and what it stands for in the community and world.

The project is expected to be completed by December 2020.

Addendum to Project Description (added after the project was signed)

The project was changed from buying individual students school supplies. After discussing their vision of using the grant for creating a library for their students we moved ahead. They used input from the Blaine County School District to identify age appropriate books. The library will allow disadvantaged students and students in need of additional help to access learning materials that they might not other wise. The total project cost ended up coming to $1422.73. the Hailey Club will contribute $272.73 to cover the final cost. This library will provide ongoing benefit to students in need and may help foster a better learning environment at school and home.

D5400 knows that you may not be finished with your app but the deadline is in a few days. Tier 3 projects require a spending plan. The uploaded doc is a statement of what I Have a Dream does. Are you proposing just to pass the grant money on to I Have a Dream for their usual activities? The Rotary Foundation does not fund other non-profit organizations in this way. You can work with organizations in the process of your project activity, but you can't just give them money. Make your request more specific about how Rotarians will be involved with "I Have a Dream" and what specifically you are proposing to fund. That will also help explain why your project cost is $2,500. Contact Ines Crespo, district grant subcommittee chair, if you need help. Her email is ines@glassinbalance.com

I have audited this project and I am rejecting it. I need a Final Report uploaded and a copy of a check from your club to I Have A Dream Foundation for $1,422.73. Then I can approve this project.

Before I can approve this project, I need a Final Report on the District's form and then uploaded it. The final report you submitted was not on the proper form.
