In this time of the Covid 19 pandemic, the Hinsdale Rotary Foundation has decided to focus on the needs of area of food banks as unemployment has skyrocketed in our area. The need for food for the newly unemployed is reaching dramatic levels.
With this in mind, the Hinsdale Rotary Foundation has voted to dedicate $2000 of our $2,631 dollars of the PE"s District Grant for 2020-21 to the food bank of the Hinsdale Community Services organization. This organization provides boxes of the food once a week to as many people as they can service. One growing need is paper products, Each week a roll of paper towel, paper napkins, and one roll of toilet paper are provided to each client. The HCS is running extremely low on paper products and is requesting that Hinsdale Rotary Foundation provides support for the bulk purchase of these products.
With the remaining $631 of our PE's District Grant, the Hinsdale Rotary Foundation has voted to dedicate that amount to the LaGrange Plymouth Place Employee's Food Bank. This food bank is designed to allow workers coming off shifts of as long as 12 hours to take food home, directly, without having to go to stores to buy food and also risk Covid 19 exposure. This request has come to us through the Rotary Club of Western Springs which is attempting to raise a total of $10,000 for the LaGrange Plymouth Place Employee Food Bank.
