Summary: Partnership with YMCA and Fairmont School District to Teach Basic Swim and Safety Skills
The Rotary Club of Joliet will partner with the YMCA and Fairmont School District to teach kids basic swimming and safety skills. The Fairmont District is an exceptionally underprivileged area where all students are on a "free lunch" program. Approximately, 75 second grade students will be taught basic swim and safety skills. The Rotary Club of Joliet will provide swimsuits, googles and towels for the students and volunteer on the day of the event by handing out towels and snacks after they have completed the course. The instruction will take place at the Joliet YMCA and certified YMCA coaches will be instructors.
