Areas of Focus: Basic education and literacy, Community economic development
Two previous projects accomplished by Parras and several D-5790 RCs have identified a need to help train teachers in Parras to meet the needs of children with mental disabilities and to provide funds for specialized multisensory classrooms in which to treat such children, as we have in the US. Older children with physical disabilities will receive vocational training in the skill of using tools to repair wheelchairs, bicycles and tricycles that will not only provide the ongoing need to repair wheelchairs, etc. but will provide these students with the opportunity to use those skills to become gainfully employed and to become productive members of the community.
DDF contributions in grey are pending approval of the corresponding district committee.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
