Alizee McLorg has been accepted to attend the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine (LSHTM) to pursue a Master of Science (MSc) in Demography and Health, for the fall of 2021. Post-graduation, she hopes to monitor and evaluate public health programs for East African populations to help ensure that public health systems and programs are equipped to prevent and treat diseases.
Alizee's undergraduate years at Syracuse University provided her with volunteer work with Somalian refugee youth. She found the work extremely rewarding and it led to two continuing studies and work experiences in Kenya taking Public Health at the University of Nairobi while interning at a community based organization and the second experience supporting data management at a U.S Army Medical Research site. She currently continues her work to improve health equity and investment in pursuing and solving global health challenges.
The Global Grant Scholarship will fund her masters program tuition and fees as well as living and visa expenses.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.

System Entry: Project dropped by Philippe Lamoise.
Reason for dropping: Requested by Cecile Bowser: At the peak of reaching out for club(s) and grant support, our club suffered several severe personal occurrences causing a break in the project moving forward. Having made a commitment to the student, we forwarded a generous scholarship such that she could continue her studies. Our Host Rotary Club was extremely generous in continuing to support her presence in London and Rotary inclusion, even posting in the Rotary International Magazine, which we are forever grateful for their ongoing generosity. We hope to later participate in other global projects having learned much in Global Rotary etiquette.
