Build 50 toilets in our adopted village in Mulavukad, Cochin, Kerala.
The Club will provide 50 toilets, which will benefit around 200 people directly.
At the moment, the intended beneficiaries do not have toilets or have dilapidated toilets. The problem is worsened by the lack of proper sewage or septic tank facilities. There is a lot of open defecation, which is especially harder on women, from a privacy and sanitation point of view. These issues combine to create an unsanitary set of conditions especially during the monsoon, leading to health issues for the community.
Once there is proper septic tank sanitation at the intended recipient homes, the neighboring homes and water bodies (especially groundwater wells) are also protected from seepage from an otherwise lack of septic tanks.
The budget requirement for this project is US$50,000. And our other funding partners have started depositing the funds.
A longtime supporter who committed US$10,000 has had a change in financial circumstances and can't remit that committed amount at this time. So we're short this amount.
