This project aims to develop and design community based integrated sustainable development program for 4 villages in Ngongolo comprising of Buswa, Sanda, Kasukusu, like model villages, with improved health, nutrition, sanitation and livelihood status with focus on women, Children and youths. It includes intervention in maternal & child health, hygiene & sanitation, counseling and mentoring the youths in life challenging opportunities and income generating activities, safe drinking water, and protection of the environment. Ngonoglo and the affected villages are located about 40 kilometers form the main city of Kampala. There are around over 80,000 poor families in Ngongolo composing of a mixed community of all tribes from Uganda.
The project will provide piped water and training in sanitation and hygiene using VHTs, build VIP toilets to 2 schools, provide piggery project to 4 youths groups with 50% girls who no longer go to school and have babies, and equip schools with scholastic materials.It aims to develop and design community based integrated sustainable development program for 9 villages in Ngongolo like model villages, with improved health, nutrition, and sanitation and livelihood status with focus on women, Children and youths.
Club members have carried out a need s assessment and have had engagement in the community through several medical camps and other minor interventions like supporting the community farming mechanisms and support to malnourished children and sick mothers.
