The arrival of a global pandemic in North Texas and at hospital doors has created unprecedented challenges for frontline caregivers and how they best respond to the needs of the community. Every day frontline workers bravely show up to selflessly serve our most critically ill patients, including those being treated for COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus. Frontline caregiver critical equipment needs have increased for hospital by thousands of dollars/day. This grant will provide much needed medical equipment to three hospital groups in North Texas(Texas Health Resources, Hendrick Medical Center, and United Regional Foundation) that serve almost all of the clubs in our district. This portion of the grant will be approximately $40,000-50,000.
In addition, because of the hardships and loss of income from the pandemic, the grant will provide funds for three food banks serving North Texas and will provide food for counties in which at least 90% of our district's clubs are located.
Rotarians will write and gain approval for a Global Grant totaling approximately $80,000. Multiple clubs are expected to contribute and Rotarians, if possible, will participate in distributing the food.

DDF contributions in grey are pending approval of the corresponding district committee.
Note: as of July 1, 2015 there is a 5% additional support fee for cash contributions. This fee does not appear in the financials above because it does not apply if the funds are sent directly to the project account (without going through TRF, and therefore without Paul Harris credit). Clubs sending their cash contribution to TRF must be aware they will have to send an additional 5%.
